Sister Stamps Release 12 - Akira

Welcome to another day of Sister Stamps Release #12! Today I'm featuring Akira and I wanted to do something like a wind chime or ornament and this is what I came up with.  I used a toilet paper roll as my base. I measured and cut my washi paper to cover the toilet paper roll. Then I stamped the image on the washi with black StazOn ink. I adhered the washi to the roll using a good glue stick. I found that glue sticks give even coverage when adhering larger pieces of washi.

I stamped, colored and cut out Akira and his kite and adhered them to the roll using pop dots. A lot of pop dots were needed to adhere the images to the curved surface.  By stamping the image to the washi, I didn't have to worry about cutting out the kite string.

To hang this, I punched two holes at the top of the roll and ran some gold cording through. At the same time I tied blue satin ribbon to the gold cording on both sides and ran it through the inside of  the roll.  This allows it to dangle from the bottom of the roll. Then I tied gold bells to the ends of the ribbon.

These would be great to hang from a tree for Boy's Day or at Christmas or just in a boy's room for fun.  You can even make them without the  blue ribbon and bells and it would still look great!

Here's a close-up of Akira.
Here's a close-up of the kite.

Sister Stamps Release 12 - Yoichi

Welcome to Sister Stamps Release #12!  Today I'm introducing you to Yoichi and what a fun taiko drummer boy he is.  For this card, I chose three different blue washi papers and cut them into squares.  I backed them with some glossy black cardstock to create washi-like tiles. You can't really tell, but the tiles are adhered with pop dots to create some dimension. I colorized this cute image with Copics and added a favorite sentiment from Little Paper Shop (retired) to complete this card.

This stamp will be available on April 1 and retail locations are listed on the official Sister Stamps website.

More Easter Goodies

I told you I loved this bunny and I wasn't kidding!  Here's more I created with it and this time the little critter was stamped in PTI's Spring Moss. I covered some Good News candy bars with Doodlebug paper and added this cute tag!

Here's a close up!  Quick and simple!

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Easter is just around the corner and I love all the crafting you can do for this holiday.  The pastel colors and cute images are so much fun to play with.  PTI just came out with an adorable bunny stamp set (and coordinating die) and I've been going to town stamping it in every color! I put together all sorts of different goodie bags and these are just a few.
Here's a close up.  The Polka Dot Parade #1 stamp set comes with this sentiment and some other options for only $5. LOVE IT!

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Twin Stars

My 6-year-old nieces were in a JC Penny's commercial that aired during the Academy Awards and my son was so excited when he saw his cousins on TV.  After rewinding it about 20 times, he was so cute and said, "I wanna send them mail." He wanted to send them a congratulatory card so I created this card and he wrote on the inside.  When the twins were younger, we would sometimes refer to them as Little Twin Stars so I used this "vintage"sticker as the focal point.  I say "vintage" because this sticker is from a collection of stickers I had as a child.  I used to collect and trade stickers.  My mom has been hounding me to clean out my old room so I recently went through boxes of stickers.  I got rid of a lot of them, but some like this, were too cute to part with (and I don't think they make a lot of them anymore).

Happy Monday!  Got a lot more in store for this week, so come visit me again!
