Happy Birthday Michele

Yesterday was Michele's birthday (owner of Island Scrapbooking) and this is the card I made her.  I'm finally learning to use the double sided paper on one card. Duh, I know they're made to coordinate, but for some reason, I'd always look for other paper to match.  On this card, the polka dot DP is on one side and strawberries on the other.  I inked up CC Designs' Swiss Butterfly Nora and used a Stampendous sentiment which I thought was perfect for the occasion.   IS is a special place for paper crafters here in Hilo and Michele has not only created a gathering place where we share creative ideas, get inspired and learn, but most significantly, it is a place where hang out, laugh and enjoy many friendships!  Happy Birthday Michele!

Supplies:
DP: Cosmo Cricket
Stamps: CC Designs - Swiss Butterfly Nora, Sentiment - Stampendous
Copics
White Embossing Powder
Cardstock, Ribbon, Crystal Stickles

  1. So nice of you to wish Michele a happy birthday on your blog. I don't think I have ever attended an interval birthday party before, but that was what it turned out to be! For your readers, I'll explain what we did. All the teachers and helpers from Island Scrapbooking and a dear friend of Michele's threw a surprise party for her, with everyone coming in at different times because of baby's nap time (Debi), or waiting until baby woke up from nap time (Tammy), or scheduled work lunch time (Jenny), or baby doctor appointment (Kelli), or other work related responsibilities (Tracy) or a husband needing rides all day (Donna). So, when we talked party we realized that everyone couldn't be there at the same time, but a party was definitely in order, thus the all day party scheme, and this is how we did it. The food was gingerly laid out and when everyone arrived they were able to eat, have brownies, although we did sing happy birthday more than once, twice.... and poor Michele did have to keep opening presents all day while trying to wait on customers; but a lively time was had by all, with some of our paths actually crossing over much to our delight! Michele was surrounded by well wishers throughout the whole day, and she was really touched by all the love, plus she got a million telephone calls from family members. It really was amazing that we didn't run off all the customers (those that don't already know us of course)with all the noise we made!
