Sister Stamps Release #26 - Mistuyo

I'm back with the next and final image for this release and this one is called Mistuyo.  She comes with her friend the crane and they're so cute together.  I paired the images up with a perfect sentiment from Papertrey Ink and finished the card with some sequins.  The stamps from this release will be available tomorrow, November 1st.

Thanks for stopping by and check out the other designers for more great inspiration!

Sister Stamps Release #26 - Ai

Welcome to Sister Stamps' release #26! I'm excited to feature one of two new stamps which will be available on November 1.  Here's sweet taiko playing Ai.  I created a little scene using some washi paper for he hill and Stampin' Up's new Confetti Stars Punch for the night sky. The arigato sentiment is a white laser cut from Island Scrapbooking that I colored to match Ai's clothing.  I finished off the card with some thin gold twine and some clear Wink of Stella shimmer on the sentiment.

Be sure to check out the other designers below and I'll be back tomorrow with another new post!

Sister Stamps Release #25 - Po

I'm back with panda #2 and this little one is Po! He's a bashful guy whose curiosity can get get him into a lot of trouble! Lol!

I stamped the background with a circles image using Versamark ink. Then I used PTI's Phrase Play die and coordinating stamp set with some copper metallic paper. You can't really see the shimmer of the metallic paper but it looks cool in person.

The stamps from this release will be available tomorrow and be sure to heck out the other designers below:

Sister Stamps Release #25 - Ling Ling

It's time for another Sister Stamps release! Get ready for lots of cuteness with Ling Ling and Po!

My card today features Ling Ling!  I played around with some vellum by putting some of the clouds and hills behind and in front of the vellum to give dimension.  Sometimes it can get tricky adhering vellum because of its see-through-ness, but I got around that by securing it to the yellow heart paper only in areas where I could hide the adhesive behind the clouds, panda and hills.

The stamps from this release will be available on September 1 and you can check out the other designers below:

Watercolor Pullout Card

Just stopping by to share a watercolor project that was fun to do! The piece attached to the tassel pulls out (forgot to take a photo) and you can write your personal sentiment there. Played around with some Distress inks and water to get this look.  What I love most about watercoloring is that the water does all the work and you don't have to be perfect or precise. It's just fun to play!

Josh the Graduate

Here's a graduation card I made a few weeks ago for my friend's son.  I couldn't resist using Sister Stamps' "graduate" stamp for this personalized card.  This image is so darn cute and so depicts the stack of leis one receives for this kind of occasion.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Birthday Makes Me Happy!

This simple card just makes me happy!  I wanted to post this mostly to emphasize that a design can be simple but colors can make all the difference. I usually start by thinking about layout first, but this time I was inspired by the cute Doodlebug paper. The bright pinks, greens, teals and yellows really make this card.  I think I'll try more of this color combo, but go diagonal on the layout. The sentiment is from PTI's "wet paint" set.

Sprinkles, Sprinkles Everywhere!

I purchased Betsy Veldman's PTI sprinkles and shakers kit last month and this is what I made. I have absolutely loved making these and I had so much fun doing so.  They are deliciously cute and I can't wait to make more!

Sister Stamps Release #24 - Ekahi

It's day 3 of Sister Stamps release and today I'm highlighting Ekahi!  This image cracks me up because this little guy reminds me of my son who always wants to slurp up the shave ice syrup with his straw!  I used PTI's newest Phrase Play die and stamp set to make this fun card.

All of the shave ice stamps will be available tomorrow so have fun playing with them!  Again, happy 3rd birthday to Sister Stamps and thanks for letting me be a part of it from the beginning!

Sister Stamps Release #24 - Anuhea

I'm back to feature another cute Sister Stamps image and today's spotlight is on Anuhea! I love this sweet girl and she can be used for a variety of occasions. I colored her up with Copics and used some Glossy Accents on the shave ice. The sentiment is from PTI's "Sayin' It With Style."  I colored the word "sweet" with the same rainbow of colors as the shave ice and added Glossy Accents to it as well.

Sister Stamp Release #24 - Leilani

Happy Birthday Sister Stamps and a big mahalo to Jenny and Denice for sharing three years of cute and unique stamps representing our special culture in Hawaii!

Shave ice (or ice shave as they call it here on Hawaii Island) is a yummy and refreshing treat I grew up with it as a kid and I'm making sure my son grows up with it as well (Lol)!   We enjoy it on hot days and the finer the ice, the better.  Two things make for good shave ice and they are FINE ICE and GOOD SYRUP!
Today's card features the adorable Leilani. I cut various strips of DP and laid them out diagonally. The sentiment was created using a Lawn Fawn alphabet set and a combination of other sentiments.
I wanted to highlight her cute pigtails so I tied some embroidery thread around them.

I'll be back with more tomorrow!

Sister Stamps Release #23 - Sakura-chan

It's the last post of this release and today I'm featuring  Sakura-chan.  For this card, I chose to cut out a jar from an America Crafts Dear Lizzy DP and use coordinating papers for the background. The sentiment is from Verve and I added some faux stitching around the perimeter. I added some Baker's Twine and a little decorative flower to the jar.

Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow is the big day and you can check out the Sister Stamps blog for retail outlets. Below are links to the other designers so be sure to check them out.

Sister Stamps Release #23 - Momotaro

Hello Friends!  I'm back with Momotaro today and here's my project. I saw a tutorial for this on Heather Klump's blog and thought it might be cool to create a kind of diaper/tote bag.  It's a good size bag and it would be fun to fill with all sorts of baby gifts.  I used a coordinating DP, added a sentiment from Island Scrapbooking and added ribbon handles and a sweet decorative rattle. This is such an adorable stamp!

Here's a close-up of Momotaro

Sister Stamps Release #23 - Sakura Set

Are you ready for another Sister Stamps release?  It's another fun one and today I'm featuring the Sakura Set. There are so many images in this set and the possibilities are endless. I believe this set was created to coordinate with the Sakura-chan and Momotaro stamps, however it's great on its own.  I created a shaker card and stamped a few different sizes of the solid sakura in the background. Some of the images were stamped with a second generation of ink to give a varied effect. I stamped and cut out one of the images and popped it up on top of the frame. I added gold Stickles and  a gold bead to finish it off.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Sister Stamps Release #22 - Wedding

Today I'm featuring Sister Stamps' new Wedding image and I love the details of this stamp! Even with all the details, it was easy to color because I kept most of the bride white. I used one of my favorite washi papers as the background along with some matte gold cardstock. The "love" sentiment is a laser cut from Island Scrapbooking.
The new stamps are available tomorrow, April 15 so check out the official Sister Stamps blog to find out where you can purchase them.

Sister Stamps Release #22 - Graduate

It's that time of the month again and Sister Stamps has some special images just for you! Graduation is just around the corner so today, I'm featuring the graduate! I love this little one who represents our culture and tradition of lei giving here in Hawaii. I remember my high school graduation and the mountain of leis I received just like this image. They were piled so high, you could barely see my face among all the beautiful flowers!
I created a modified lei to give kids for preschool or elementary school graduations. (My son was sleeping when I took this photo so my husband was my model).  I took a plastic luggage tag holder and made a tag using this image. I slipped the colored image into the plastic sleeve and got a lanyard with both a clip and cording.  I attached the lanyard to the tag with the snap closure and attached a  snack to the lei using the clip. I used taro chips here but you could use any snack size packaged goodie. The cording makes this gift into a lei and this project can be done pretty quickly and inexpensively!
Here's a close-up of the adorable graduate!

Be sure to check out the others and their great projects and I'll be back tomorrow with more!

Sister Stamps Release #21 - Kimie

It's day 3 of Sister Stamps release #21 and here's my shaker card featuring Kimie! How sweet is she with the three bunnies? Although this stamp is great for Easter, I think it can work for other occasions as well.  I need a card for an upcoming birthday so this is what I came up with.  I used PTI's "fabulous frames" stamps and dies and the new Stampin' Up "arrows" embossing folder (love it!).

Thanks for stopping by and the stamps for this release will be available tomorrow! Be sure to check out the other designers below:

Sister Stamps Release #21 - Jade

Its'a day 2 of Sister Stamps release and I'm featuring another cute bunny today called Jade! I decided to embellish some chevron packaging and use new watercolor designer paper from Stampin' Up.  I layered banners, punched out chevrons and used a rub-on for the sentiment.  Really doesn't get much easier than this!

Sister Stamps Release #21 - Moon

Helllooooo! Boy this year is flying by and I can't believe we're almost into March! It's time for another Sister Stamps release which will be available on March 1. I'm excited about the sweet new bunnies and today I'm featuring Moon! This cutie patootie can obviously be used for Easter themed projects but can easily be used for a variety of other occasions as well.

I used the PTI "In the Meadow" die for the hills and PTI "Polka Dot Parade #1" stamp set for the sentiment.

Sister Stamps Release #20 - Minako

It's day 3 of Sister Stamps release and today I'm featuring Minako. Although I've never been a huge fan of Valentine's Day, I do love all the cute red and pink things that come out around this holiday. I decided to use this sweet color combination and create a birthday card instead.

I hope you've enjoyed the introduction of new images. They're all so cute it's hard to choose a favorite.  The stamps will be available for purchase tomorrow and you can find a list of retailers on the official Sister Stamps blog.

Sister Stamps Release #20 - Misaki

Thanks for stopping by for day 2 of Sister Stamps Release #20. Today, I'm featuring Misaki and the idea for this card was influenced by my 5-year-old son. He's totally into the colors of the rainbow so I thought it would be fun to make a birthday card by cutting the word "happy" out of the colors of the rainbow. And to make it even more cheery, I added Bakers Twine in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple!
On the inside, I stamped "birthday" using PTI's Wonderful Birthday Words and added a smaller Hero Arts sentiment. The birds are part of the Misaki image but I decided to separate them and use them on the inside. This card makes me happy!

Be sure to pay a visit to the other girls below and I'll be back again tomorrow with one more post.

Sister Stamps Release #20 - Harumi

Wow! It's been awhile since I've blogged, but I'm back with some of the cutest new Sister Stamps images to be released on February 1. I'll be posting over the next three days so I hope you'll be inspired by what you see!

The first image I decided to play with is Harumi! I took to this stamp immediately because of it's versatility and endless possibilities. I wanted to do something for Valentine's Day and used Doodlebug's pixies as my starting point. I think they're supposed to be used for cupcakes but I thought they'd be fun on this card. I've been seeing a lot of angled layers on cards lately so I incorporated it here. It was hard to find the perfect sentiment for this, but putting together three different Hero Arts stamps worked out nicely.  I'm happy with how playful this turned out and hope it inspires you in some way.
